technical data

Transmission type   Wired
Headphone design (operating principle)   Closed
Headphone impedanceAlso known as nominal impedance. The impedance is the AC resistance of the coils of loudspeakers and headphones in ohms. Since impedance depends on the frequency, it is always specified at a frequency of one kilohertz.   32 ohms
Headphone frequency responseThe frequency response specifies the highest and lowest frequencies reproduced by the acoustic transducer of the headphones.   18 - 22.000 Hz
Nominal sound pressure levelThe acoustical level, the headphone transducer produces to an artificial ear (a measurement device, which simulates a human ear) with an input power of 1 mW (dB/mW @ 500 Hz).   110 dB
Polar patternThe polar pattern is the preferred pick-up direction of the microphone. According to the shape of the corresponding measurement plot, there are omni-directional, cardioid, super-cardioid or hyper-cardioid as well as figure-of-eight patterns. for microphone   Cardioid
Transducer typeThe transducer system is designed as a dynamic moving coil microphone, as a ribbon microphone or as a condenser microphone. for microphone   Condenser - Cardioid
ConstructionSound coupling to the ear. A differentiation is made between supraaural headphones, circumaural headphones and in-ear headphones.   Supraaural (on-ear)

Translated from the original German article

This headset is well manufactured and fits easily and comfortably on the head.

Its light weight makes it pleasant to wear this headset so that for long gaming sessions there is no problem of getting tired, because the ear pads are very soft.

The sound of the headset is very good. Mids, highs and bass can be clearly separated. Only the bass could be more powerful, but nevertheless the sound is very consistent and applies positively in games.

The cardioid condenser microphone transmits the voice consistently and clearly even in voice chats with others, the voice output is very clear. So it can be said that both comfort and acoustic of the MMX 2 headset are very consistent and comfortable.

Conclusion: If you are looking for an inexpensive gaming and multimedia headset providing a coherent sound and a comfortable fit, choose the MMX 2 without hesitation.

Translated from the original German test report

The headset covers the entire frequency spectrum and provides a good sound, no matter whether you are listening to music, while watching films or playing games. The swivelling condenser microphone has a clear recording behaviour due to the built-in noise suppression.

Conclusion entry-level class: In this class the beyerdynamic MMX 2 was most convincing. The price/performance ratio is very good (…)
